International Business Mission of the Republic of Mari El to the Republic of Finland and the Kingdom of Sweden
During May 19 – 25, 2016, the international business mission of small and medium enterprises to the Republic of Finland and the Kingdom of Sweden was held. The delegation of the Republic of Mari El was represented by the Head of the Regional Integrated Center - Republic of Mari El Igor Gubin, executive managers and representatives of enterprises with a various specialization: Information Technologies, waste management, low-rise construction, agricultural and ecotourism, brewing companies.
The objective of the business mission was to represent the economic and investment opportunities of the Republic of Mari El to the business community of the Republic of Finland and the Kingdom of Sweden, study the experience of specialized enterprises selected according to specialization of the business mission members.
On May 19, a working meeting was held at the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Finland, where the acting Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Finland Sergey Sinelnikov, specialists of the Trade Representation, representatives of the Finnish companies Pekka Takala, Ian D.Oker-Blom, Erno Ihto, and the members of the international business-mission of the Republic of Mari El took part.
The Regional Integrated Center – Republic of Mari El together with the Center of the European Enterprise Network (EEN) in the city of Turku - Turku Science Park Ltd - arranged a working program for May 20. Representatives of the IT companies from the Republic of Mari El conducted a working meeting at the office of the company STARTUP SAUNA (available at http://startupsauna.com). The delegation visited the showroom of the company Vantaan Energia (waste processing and management) in Helsinki.
During May 21 – 22, the delegation visited companies specializing in agricultural and ecotourism in the region Meri Teijo Matildedal of the Republic of Finland.
On May 23, working meetings in the cities Tampere and Turku of the Republic of Finland were held. Members of the delegation presented their companies and shared the working experience with such Finnish companies, as the Business Association TREDEA, Uusi Tehdas, New Factory company, Pyynikin Käsityöläispanimo brewery, as well as Turku Science Park Ltd.
On May 24, the delegation of the Republic of Mari El arrived to Stockholm (Sweden). Within the working program of the business mission, a working meeting was held with the Swedish business community at the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in Sweden. The Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in Sweden and the Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization “Agency of Investment Development of the Republic of Mari El” concluded a Memorandum on Collaboration Objectives and Principles. The delegation members visited the bakery Valhallabageriet, IT-company TIETO, waste processing plant SÖRAB, and the international fair “World Bioenergy 2016” in Stockholm.
On May 25, the Head of the Regional Integrated Center – Republic of Mari El discussed the aspects of potential collaboration with the head of the EEN-Center in Stockholm - Foretagarna (available at www.foretagarna.se).
